Conventional Analogue

The standard first generation of CCTV cameras require a coaxial cable to the digital video recorder (DVR). The resolution is usually low on this type of camera but is a very cost effective way to monitor your personal property or business. Systems can consist of as many cameras required. Nowadays, these cameras being used with HD-TVI systems. This will provide improve HD video quality over the existing coaxial cables.

IP Network System

These are typically the newer models of CCTV. The system utilises a LAN running on a Cat5 cable. These cameras can be powered down the same cable utilising Power over Ethernet (POE) switches. This can save on having to run separate power cables or needing local power points. The main benefit of using these cameras is that it’s resolution is of higher quality than the conventional analogue cameras.

Number Plate Recognition (NPR)

The NPR CCTV system can use as either of the two previous types of systems. The camera is designed to recognise car or motor cycle registration plates to create vehicle location data. They can be captured by DVR or NVR using standard software. The software will add a base to allow different uses such as connecting to an access control system, locking certain vehicles and many more functions.
